Reshaping the pupil when torn or damaged, to make it round.
Injury to the eye can cause loss of some part of the iris or a large tear causing the pupil to become misshaped. This can be a cosmetic problem and also, the extra light entering the eye causes glare and poor vision. The pupil can be repaired to make it as near a round shape as possible. An artificial iris of the matched colour to the other eye, can be inserted in the eye, to cover the defect. An appropriately painted contact lens can be used instead of an operation.
